Leadership The Key For Entrepreneurs September 27
North Wales entrepreneurs have been advised that leadership is key to the success of their businesses.
Speaking to a meeting at St Asaph Business Park, business expert Colin Turner told entrepreneurs from across the region that technology was not as important to small firms as good leadership and urged them to concentrate on the strengths of their companies, icNorth Wales reports.
Mr Turner has worked with some of the world’s biggest multinationals, including GlaxoSmithKline, Monsanto and Microsoft, the UK government and has founded a number of successful businesses such as Paramount Homes. He now described himself as a “best selling author, conference speaker and business mentor” and lectures across the globe on business success.
The masterclass on improving entrepreneurial practice formed part of the most recent round of Welsh Assembly Government People in Business seminars. Mr Turner outlined his strategies for entrepreneurial thinking during the seminar at the OpTIC optronics research, incubation and business centre and how this can boost business growth.
“Technology is not a driver, it is merely an accelerator. Leadership is a driver but most leaders have their foot on the brake,” he explained.
The business practice guru added that business leaders should maintain their passion over the years, as well as developing strong leadership and management skills, promoting innovation and making the most out of opportunities rather than taking risks.
