Conquering the Blog Search Market the Google Way December 29
The increasing battle for a share of the blog search market is moving in Google’s favour, as new figures show the search giant is gaining a larger share of the market.

Google’s Blog Search, which trawls the internet for blog sites as opposed to any other type of website, has been particularly successful in the past few months and according to metrics firm Hitwise, it has now become the top blog search site in the world.
Google is now in a strong position in the market and has surpassed its main rivals, Technorati and Sphere, according to the research from Hitwise.
According to the metrics company, Technorati had 0.0023 per cent of total internet traffic in the week following Christmas, while Google Blog Search passed 0.0025 per cent during the same period
The increase in traffic has been put down to the fact that Google Blog Search has been linked by Google to the firm’s news section, meaning that the blog sector is now benefiting from the massive demand for news searches. It is believed that the demand for online news will be one of the biggest growth areas for the internet over the years ahead and by linking blogs searches to its news searches, Google is ensuring the success of its Blog Search facility.
Blogs are also expected to be one of the boom areas for the internet in the future, so by investing in the technology to search for them, Google is ensuring it is again at the forefront of the changing demand of the internet.
