FSB Welcomes Youngest Entrepreneur September 25
The Federation of Small Businesses (FSB) has welcomed its youngest-ever member into its ranks this month - at just 14 years of age.
Lewis Bankes-Hughes, of Somerton in Oxfordshire, created his own graphic and website design business, Fluffy Duster, a year ago - and, having worked with over 20 businesses and individuals already, has helped produce work such as international conference brochures, website banner adverts, websites themselves and event posters.
His message, as conveyed to Freelance UK, is unerringly positive and acts as a rallying cry to young business hopefuls across the country.
“For me, the secret of ‘making it’, is to just go for it, and don’t let anything stop you,” he said.
“I’ve always been interested in design and decided to start my own business in order to take it to the next level. Fluffy Duster is there to help start up businesses and individuals, who need good graphics and websites but can’t afford massive design bills and don’t have the time or expertise to do it themselves.”
His membership of the FSB is being sponsored by the local Business Link, which offers advice and support to small businesses and entrepreneurs. Aiming one day to create his own architectural design firm, he expects to go to university in four years’ time after building up Fluffy Duster further.
